What are Domain Labels?

Domain Labels are custom tags that help you organize and manage your domains more efficiently, especially if you own multiple domains. They allow you to group domains based on your own criteria and quickly filter or act on them.

With Domain Labels, you can:

  • Assign one or more labels to a domain

  • Use labels to group domains by project, client, purpose, or any other category

  • Add a color and description to each label to quickly understand what it’s used for

  • View label descriptions by hovering over the label

Labels are account-specific and only visible to users who have permission to manage domains on the account.

Where to manage Domain Labels

Domain Labels are managed directly from the Client Area.

You can manage labels from:

  • Client Area > Domains > My Domains.

  • The domain management page of an individual domain.

From the Label Manager, you can:

  • Create a new label by choosing a name, color, and optional description

  • Edit an existing label (name, color, or description)

  • Delete a label

    • If a label is currently assigned to domains, you’ll be asked to confirm before deleting it

Changes are saved immediately and remain available the next time you log in.

How to access the Label Manager

  1. Look for a domain that doesn't have a label assigned to it.

  2. Click on the + sign from the Labels column.

  3. Click on Manage Labels.

  4. From there, you can create, delete or edit domain labels.

How to filter domains with Labels

Domain Labels can be used as filters to quickly find specific domains.

To filter domains using labels:

  1. Go to My Domains

  2. Open Filters

  3. Select one or more labels from the Labels filter

You can:

  • Filter by a single label

  • Filter by multiple labels

  • Combine label filters with search or other domain filters

When viewing a filtered list, supported bulk actions will only apply to the domains shown in that filtered view.

Important considerations

  • A domain can have up to two labels assigned at the same time (current version)

  • Labels are for organization only and do not affect:

    • Domain registration

    • DNS configuration

    • Renewal behavior

  • Bulk actions using labels are limited to currently supported bulk actions

  • Deleting a label removes it from all associated domains

  • Labels are per account and not shared across different client accounts
