If your email is hosted with us, you can update your email account password directly through cPanel. This guide walks you through what to check before making the change, how to do it, and what to do afterwards.
Before You Start
If you have multiple services or domains with us, it's important to confirm which cPanel account your email belongs to before making any changes. Each service has its own cPanel instance, and each cPanel can manage multiple domains — so logging into the wrong one means you won't find the email account you're looking for.
If you're unsure which cPanel your email is under, check which domain the email address uses (e.g. info@yourdomain.com) and make sure you're logged into the cPanel associated with that domain before proceeding.
How to Change Your Email Password in cPanel
Under the Email section, click Email Accounts.
Find the email address you want to update.
Click Manage.
Under the Security section, enter your new password in the New Password field. You can also click on Generate if you want to generate a random strong password, just make sure to copy it and save it somewhere.
Use the password strength meter as a guide — aim for a strong rating.
Click Update Email Settings in the bottom of the pageto save the change.
The new password takes effect immediately.
After the Change — Important Steps
This is the part most people miss, and it causes unnecessary panic.
Update all your email clients and devices
The moment your password changes, any app or device configured with that email address will stop sending and receiving mail. This includes:
Microsoft Outlook
Mozilla Thunderbird
iPhone / iPad Mail
Android Mail
Any other mail app on any device
You will need to go into the account settings on each of these and update the password to the new one.
Webmail works immediately
If you need to send or receive email right away while you sort out your devices, you can access your inbox through webmail. Simply go to your cPanel and click Check Email next to your account.
Update any saved passwords in your browser
If your browser has the old password saved (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.), it will prompt you to update it the next time you log in to webmail. Make sure you save the new one so you're not locked out later.
